43, Mason, OHI converted to Catholicism in 2010 after a series of life changing events. I feel very passionately about my Catholic Faith and am very active in my parish. I teach in my parish religion program, am a leader in a Christian scout-like organization for girls and I only substitute teach at Catholic schools. Given that my faith plays such a large role in my every day life, I feel it is essential that my future spouse be a practicing Catholic as well. I am a mom to a wonderful and active 8 year old girl. I feel that motherhood is one of the greatest gifts I have ever been given. I thank God every day that He chose me to be her mother. Being her only parent keeps me busy, but I make time to enjoy things for me, too. I like to spend time with my friends. We usually spend time talking while our kids are at a sport practice or class. I enjoy tent camping, but I am afraid to do that without the comfort of our scout-like group. By no means am I am expert at camping - totally far from it- but I love the peace and quiet of nature and enjoying the simplicity of God's creation. I love Disney World and vacation there at least once a year. I love the Harry Potter series (books and movies) and have gone to Universal Studios Orlando a couple times just for that. My favorite TV shows are The Big Bang Theory and Doctor Who. I was an analytical chemist for 10 years, so yes, I am a geek, more often than not. I am very sarcastic and sometimes a button pusher- just to get a reaction. I appreciate people who are firm in their beliefs, religious & secular, and do not mind a friendly debate or discussion. Sadly, many people these days seem to compromise or hide who they are or what they believe because they are afraid of offending other people - I am not that person. That doesn't mean I am rude by any means, but I am unapologetically me. My late husband passed away when our daughter was 3 months old and I have raised her completely on my own since then. I know what is it like to have a wonderful and happy marriage. I was blessed with 9 years of being happily married. I know how short life can be and know that plans we once had don't always work out as we thought. I do plan for the future, but I try to enjoy the present as much as possible. I think the greatest gift we can give is time. Spend time making memories: laughing, talking, helping others. Because in the end, memories are all we really leave behind.
66, Springfield, OHI am a practicing "cradle" Catholic, mother of 4 adult children (3 sons and one daughter), grandmother to 4, and retired from Federal Civil Service employment in the secretarial/administrative field. After almost 3 carefree years in retirement, I recently submitted my application to a placement agency. I asked to be considered for part-time work, with the expectations that I would expand my social contacts and keep my brain active. At almost 64 years of age, I have been single for 9 years following the annulment of my 31-year marriage. It would be wonderful to meet a Catholic guy who is also retired and would welcome the opportunity to share our Faith and have fun doing simple things - conversation over a good cup of coffee, watching a wholesome video, going on a picnic, day trips to take in the beauty of nature or something special the area has to offer visitors, etc. I thought I should explain two of my answers to the Faith questions. Regarding contraception, I feel that some barrier methods are acceptable. However, I strongly oppose any method that would prevent a fertilized egg from implanting in the womb. Currently, the Church only allows the ordination of men. In the United States we have a growing shortage of priests. In Springfield, OH, one parish (of five) has closed. Two others have joined. Sunday Mass is still offered in both locations, with one priest traveling between the two parishes on weekends. Next year two more parishes will join in the same manner - sharing one priest. I would like to see the Church consider the ordination of women and also allowing priests to marry.

25, West Alexandria, OHNote: I have just entered a wonderful relationship with a young man I've met on here. Because of this I will only be using my account to use the forums and read some of the articles. I will not be opening or reading any messages. Please know that I will still say a prayer for you and your vocation, I only ask that you pray for my boyfriend and I as well. Thank you! and God Bless! :) Hello and welcome to my page! My name is Sarah and please know that just by viewing this page I am praying for you. Please say a little one for me too! God knows I need it! So I guess you want to know a little about me now. I like long walks on the beach and the sound of rain.... Okay okay! So I've only been to the beach once since I'm land locked annnnnnd I'm afraid of thunder storms. I'm a Catechetics major at Franciscan University and a member of Illuminata Pace Household (If you don't know what that means, just ask!). At the moment I help the youth Director at my local parish with anything she needs and sometimes anything the DRE or Secretary needs too. I even coded their website, though don't think I am tech-savy. I'll still Skype someone and have to ask, "Can you see me?" "No..." "Uhh... Okay, let me figure this out...." I'm an ISFJ on the Myers Briggs, and I and anyone who knows me well agrees it's vary accurate. I love to smile and laugh a lot, much like my name's sake was known for and I'm pleased with the smallest of gestures. I show that I care by offering to do things for those I care about. Alright sooo, thank you for reading this far! Please feel free to send me a message, I'd love to hear from you. :) (Ask me what happened when two college seniors decided to sit with me at dinner my first week at Franciscan University! It's a funny story!)
