I try to trust God to be with me. I moved from the East Coast to the West Coast to be nearer my siblings and to make it easier for my parents to move closer to their grandchildren. My sister and I cared for our parents full-time until they both passed on. People that I have worked with tell me that I get along well with everyone, that they consider me to have high ethics, and that they love to hear me laugh.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. ~Mark Twain I have just recently relocated to Portland, OR and the boxes still need to be unpacked. I'm pretty content with my life but it would be nice to have someone to share the joy with! My faith is important to me. I try and live a life full of gratitude for both the joy and sorrows that come my way. Everything is gift; everything is grace. I have a good life. My two adult children are healthy and living independent lives. I am blessed with good friends and a nice home. I am fit and active. I like to do the same things most people do. I enjoy spending time with family and friends but also relish quiet alone time. I love being outside; walking, cycling, or just watching the world go by. I like to curl up with a good book or watch a good movie. I love to travel and look forward to doing more of it. I'm just a simple girl trying to live a simple life and do God's will.

I am a non-smoking, non-drinker, Catholic, educated, caring person. I have dark blond hair with brown eyes. I have one adult daughter. I have a MBA from SOU. I am a Computer Programmer Analyst. I have a construction background based on growing up with four brothers and a father who was a do-it-yourself all around handy man, and who loved to flip houses. I take pride in finding creative solutions for problems, whether it is at work or at home. I used to play a guitar in the folk group at church, but now I am currently learning to play the folk harp. I would love to find someone to play musical instruments together with, but that is not a requirements. One of my brothers and I play harps together at local nursing homes. I also enjoy making stained glass projects with my daughter. To relax, I like watching TV, going to movies, live theater and enjoying a good meal and conversation. I am shy by nature, and am not interested in the bar-hopping social scene. I prefer smaller groups of close friends.

I am an attractive, healthy, active, loving woman. Life is never boring! My passions include dragon boating, yoga, reading and sewing/quilting. Family and friends are a vital part of my life; and I like time alone for quiet and reflection. Health care is my field and love it. I work part-time because I am good at it, and feel like at the end of the day I have made a small contribution to the world at large. It also helps fund my travels. My last trip was to Peru, a spiritual journey led by shaman. It was an amazing experience! Volunteerism is essential to me, locally and globally. In Portland I volunteer at a clinic for the uninsured. My first trip to Kenya in 2005, changed my life. I have created a non-profit, we have built a Living Center (orphanage) for 120 children who have lost one or both parents to HIV/AIDs. I have also been active in the SMART progran and the Parkinson's community.

To start, I love a good laugh, even when it's on me. I choose to be happy, to be thankful, and pray often. Some people say I'm spontaneous; I just like to keep things open. That's when the truly special moments happen. I remember hearing someone say, "I'm not fond of the kitchen, but I love a man who is." I can relate to that. I consider myself a "get by" kind of cook, but I do have a big heart. So I bake. A lot. If you have anything against desserts, then please just skip past my profile. I'm a sucker for a great smile and I love all the perks of being a woman. I've had a blessed life for the most part. I've enjoyed the partnership of marriage, the celebration of children, a fulfilling career, and the wisdom that comes from life's challenges. I know true joy! Here's my deal: I offer you honesty, kindness, humor and respect right from the start. I expect the same in return. If that is of interest to you (my feelings won't be hurt if you're not), then please take a moment and say hello.

I am healthy, have a great family, and appreciate the good life I have every day. I am a reader, love to travel, walk every day, enjoy movies and cultural events. City life agrees with me, - moved to downtown Portland this year after selling my too large house. But - I love the beach and mountains - and outdoor activities. My husband of 53 years passed away in 2013, and I was his caregiver - so have taken some time to regroup, I and am ok being alone. My friends are great, but this year decided that I will try to meet new people, so that is one reason I am on this site. I do miss male companionship to do fun things with. I am not looking for a permanent relationship at this time, but would like to meet a good friend to do things we might have in common. My children all live far away, but keep in close touch. I have 2 granddaughters 18 and 20. As far as religion, God is the center of my life...and I respect different paths. I am inclusive and hopefully respectful of all. I am dedicated to social responsibility. My Mother was my role model and her spirit will always be with me. I had great Sisters and teachers in my education who were influential in my life. I play the ukulele for fun, and love lots of different kinds of music

Hi, looking out there to see if there is a special person to spend time with. There is much in life that interests me and I particularly enjoy music and intelligent conversations ranging on many subjects. Travel is my passion and I can make anywhere home. I travel mostly to the south of the US but recently had a first experience in Paris and Iceland which felt great , new admiration for these countries has been gained. I also have a passion for the two G's Gardening and Grandmothering,,actually the grand kids call me GiGi. Being a day person I find it fun to get out in an evening once in a while so going anywhere fun especially if there is music involved or theater (live preferably) is a treat. I do take faith seriously and embrace spirituality in my life. Find you have an interest in anything said here, lets see where life takes us.
