I'm living right outside Philly and currently pursuing my Ph.D. I'm nearly done and can't wait to get back into the working world. I also feel I'm ready to meet someone special with whom I'd hope to journey forward in life. I'd like to find someone who has natural conversation chemistry with me, who enjoys learning, talking, going out to eat, attending cultural events in the city, outdoor activities, or all of the above. Then again, I'm also happy to meet people who introduce me to things I don't normally do. Do you like taking local road trips to explore nearby towns' main streets? Going to watch movies that aren't advertised? Going to play pitch n' putt golf or climbing rock climbing walls? I'm known to smile a lot and feel quite comfortable in a crowd I've only just met because I like meeting people, though my favorite group size is one-on-one for chatting purposes. I love to get into long conversations about life, culture, and philosophy (to name a few).....but will also engage in serious dialogs over which were the best worst songs of the 80's that I can't help but love. :) I feel that I and everyone else has some calling in this world. I'm still in the process of figuring mine out as I pursue this degree....but the process is fun; so is the prospect of meeting someone with whom I could share that journey. I try to live my faith especially as I encounter new people. When in a relationship, I value myself and my potential partner wholly and intimately and hope to consistently practice respect and compassion toward each other. Lastly (for now), I not only love the outdoors, but I feel it is my/our responsibility to protect it and the life that depends on it (including our own). Consequently, I try to live a very ecological life and am always happy to teach others who want to learn how.

I am changing my profile for the first time in a long time. I could tell you how funny and intelligent I am but that is every profile and after a while they blend together. I am not going to promise you that I am the woman of your dreams. I have tried to be that for a few men in the past the same way that some men have tried for me, it always fails. Let's be honest. I am a flawed human being who has what I consider to be some great qualities, I am adventurous, friendly, and as mentioned above intelligent. I also have some weaknesses, I am sometimes impatient, and have lost some of the idealism I had as a young doctor. I am not perfect, but I like myself and I have faith in God though sometimes I struggle with that. I guess I would rather meet a guy who might like me for me than a bunch of guys who like the fact I like long walks on the beach.

I am most passionate about being a high school teacher. It is when I believe I'm at my best and being in the classroom everyday is one of the greatest joys in my life. When not in school, I enjoy trying new restaurants, going to the movies, comedy clubs, or a Phillies game. Staying in, ordering take-out, and watching Netflix is always good too. I'm also a Peanuts collector....not walnuts and cashews, but Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the whole gang.

Since becoming an actual member, instead of a "lurker," I think, pretty much, what I said before is true. I STILL like discussions of spirituality and deeper issues. These pursuits have indeed taken up a lot of my life. I continue to concern myself about making the most of each day, enjoying myself, and being with other people. I've only worked within the non-profit sector, and so work that helps others and is mission-driven has been important to me. I am a fundraiser now--a full time proposal writer for a well-known Philadelphia non-profit. My parents have been most influential in my life, of course. They're gone now, so I see their influence even more clearly. . .No surprise there! Other family members and friends, too, have been influential, not to mention exes who brought me hard lessons, thank you very much! Catholicism and Catholic connections have become VERY important to me, though a good number of my friends and associates are NOT Catholic, and those who are Catholic do not really practice. I do. More than ever. Tending to my mom in her final years brought me back to Catholicism after a long absence in which I focused on other types of spirituality--mainly of the New Age persuasion. It's been interesting, and I think that those experiences of meditation and stillness serve me well now at Mass and other services. I really like growing and going. I look forward to getting together with friends, going to lectures, book club, parties, street fairs, the museum, dining out. working out. . . I've been single most of my life, with the exception of two long-term relationships, so I know how to be in the world as a single, and I mostly like it, though it would be nice to share my life with the right person. I really enjoy exploring the new. Used to LOVE photography, but less so now. Travel is a great passion of mine, and I look forward to going to more exotic places. India heads the list. You didn't fall asleep, did you? Thanks for reading about me!

I moved to Philadelphia two years ago and love living life here.

I am easy going, funny but also can be serious. I like to learn new things. I like sports but I am not a super fan. If given the choice to go on an adventure or watching a game. I am going on the adventure. I like art and music (all music), movies (comedy, science fiction, action top 3 types of movies). Well, if I meet a potential boyfriend/husband I want him to know I want children.*** I am open to God's will in regard to the children being e biological, step, and/or adopted children. I am the fun Aunt and hope to be a fun Mother someday.*** So I look at Catholic Match as a tool to meet new people, hang out and see how things go. I'm a bluntly honest person, loyal, happy person often called on to help a friend(s) in need. *Testimonials are available.

Over the years I have tried and failed to come up with some snappy introductory phrase that would immediately implant in the hearer's mind everything he/she needs to know about me. You know the kind of thing I mean - the two words that immediately follow someone's name on a business card, for example "Wile E. Coyote, Super Genius." Doesn't that just tell you everything you need to know? Sadly I am not a Super Genius, and somehow phrases like "Rogue Humanist," "Semi-Professional Impresario" and "Undercover Catholic," while all having some descriptive merit, lack a certain punch, as well as sounding a tad pretentious. And yet, they are all more or less true. I am a humanist, and I take pleasure in being part of a long intellectual tradition that is intimately woven into Catholicism. I am an artist/entrepreneur who creates theater as a way of generating income for myself and other artists (not a lot of income but you know, some income) and as a means of quietly, subtly, subversively spreading the love of God to those who cannot be accessed through traditional means. I am a Catholic woman in an urban setting, trying to lead a Catholic life in a world inundated by moral relativism, secularism, and a poisonous sense of postmodern subjectivism that threatens to erode not only our moral heart, but our capacity to live adventurous, exciting, satisfying lives or even engage in such basic human endeavors as narrative fiction. (Think about that for a moment. In a world without any absolutes can there be heroes? Villains? Satisfying drama? I am increasingly convinced there cannot be.) And it is in undermining these dangerous influences through good story-telling that I hope to fully practice my faith. Truth is, of course, I've only recently discovered that's what I want to do, so I can't say I've effectively done it yet. I have been making theater for three years now and I've tried to live my faith as I do, but this is idea of crafting pieces with a specific goal of quiet evangelism is a new thing. We'll see how it goes.
