    35, Dallas, TX
Thanks for visiting my profile! The things that matter most to me in life are my faith, my family, and my friends, and I feel extremely blessed to have all three. While I have a crazy job that can vie for much of my time, at the end of the day, being there for those I love and investing in others' lives are tops on my priority list. I am a Dallas transplant (from Indiana via Walla Walla, Wash.), and now that I've been here a while, it seems I've finally found my niche. I've even developed a bit of a Texas drawl, or so I've been told. :-) I'm not dead-set on staying in Dallas, and would actually like to move closer to my family in the Midwest. I have a new nephew who needs to know Aunt Sarah. However, and am trying to be open to wherever God wants to lead me, even if that means staying in Texas. I'm really not a sidelines girl. You'll rarely find me cooped up in my apartment alone. While I crave a quiet night in occasionally, more often than not I'd rather go hiking, play tennis, meet up with friends for a drink or for coffee, volunteer at church, or take a random road trip. Anything else you want to know? Just ask :-)

I am heading into my 8th year of teaching and I still love my job. For me, it is what God has called me to do right now for my work vocation. I own my house (or, paying a mortgage), which still sometimes feels very surreal. I'm incredibly blessed in so many things, from my family and friends, to owning a house, to loving what I do every day. I also now have two dogs, whom I love very much, named Gandalf and Pippin. I went to the University of Dallas and have my BA in History, a minor in Medieval and Renaissance studies and my teaching certification. Teaching is my work vocation at the moment (it could change!) and God shows Himself to me in the students every day - and in challenging them to think - they challenge me right back. I also lead a young adult group at my church - we meet for a potluck dinner and bok discussion once a week. I love to read and learn. I like to daydream and to take photos, both mental and real. I'd rather have more time than money. I love to cook and bake, and have an odd enjoyment of cleaning/organizing other peoples stuff. I lector, sing in the St. Cecilia Choir at my church, and volunteer when I can. I enjoy watching sports and love to watch movies, playing board games and card games, and I love a good discussion. I love being with my friends and with my family- my family is pretty up there! I also have a list of 5 important things: 1) God - I believe fully in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Three in One, and I wouldn't be who I am today without Him. 2) Love (platonic or otherwise) - Love is God, God is love, and from Him all forms of love, from love of a family to love of a friend. 3) Family - My family is one of the most important parts of my life. My mother and father, my grandparents, my aunts and uncles and cousins, my brother have always been there for me. They are incredibly important to me and shaped who I am. I try to talk to my parents once every week. 4) Friends - My friends (both current and past, because things do change) have helped form who I am. I value my close friendships highly. 5) Books - I love to read. I have also realized that I love reading old National Geographics. Plus, I love to keep learning!

The crackling of a campfire eases my heart. Good wine, good books and good friends creates an excellent combination, but the quickest way to my heart is to reveal your nerdiness .... Preferably with Shakespeare or Firefly. I am the oldest of seven, an academic, snobbish about literature, wine, music, and rather shy which most often translates into awkwardness. There should be a book that could give a script for flirting, because I freeze and can't think of a thing to say. If I manage to maintain eye-contact then I am doing well and am interested. I am teaching middle school English, History, and Latin at a tiny private school. I love watching my students change and mature, seeing the light come on in their minds when they grasp a difficult (or awesome) concept. And I love being the one to give them the shocking and delightful news that "Ring Around the Rosie" is about the Bubonic Plague. Someday I want to start my own k-12 school with a classical curriculum and a house system, to be closely affiliated with the college that some of my friends are going to start! I have eyes the color of the sea after a storm. Petrichor!

I love life and I love Jesus. My faith and my relationship with Jesus is the most important thing to me and what guides my life. I constantly am exploring new places, trying new things and meeting new people. I love variety and am very outgoing and extroverted so this gives me my energy. I love the outdoors, most sports, growing in my faith, music, seeing friends, and reading. I love being of service to others whether it is volunteering with youth, the homeless, soup kitchens, building something, or trying something new. When you give of yourself, God gives you just as much as you give to others. I don't take myself too seriously and I love people, my friends and my family with all of my being. I love to be around genuine people, whether their life is broken or beautiful, and to see Christ through them. If you want to get to know me more, please message me :) I love good conversation. "Until I realize that it cost someone something to love me, I then will never realize how much they really love me" Fr. Mike Schmitz

  • Isabel, 35 from Plano, TX
    35, Plano, TX
Hi, my name is Isabel. I am a Texas native but have roots all over the world. I am passionate about my career in Forensic Science but don't be's not like CSI at all. I love attending concerts, festivals and local events. I may seem reserved but I never meet a stranger and always find something in common with whomever I meet. I enjoy wine and beer tastings and I'm not afraid of trying new foods. On a low-key evening I might catch an action movie or curl up with some tea and a good mystery novel. My family is constant foundation of support for me and I draw on them for their courage and heritage of faith.

  • Brenda, 31 from Red Oak, TX
    31, Red Oak, TX
I'm easy going and laid back most of the time ; however I do have a bit of a stubborn streak and a witty sense of humor so I'm told. I was raised most of my life in the country, so I am a little bit of a tomboy and i enjoy watching and playing sports and being outdoors fishing, camping, etc. This being said I do like to dress up every once in a while and embrace my girlie side. I'm currently a nurse in the neurovascular ICU, but I hope to be working in Labor and delivery or in pediatric areas in the near future. I'm very involved with the choir, youth group, and other activities at my church. I enjoy hanging out with friends and family whenever I'm not working. I love to travel and I'm hoping to do more traveling in the future. My life hasn't always been an easy one; however, with God and my family in my corner I can do anything.
  • Abigail, 32 from Rowlett, TX
    32, Rowlett, TX
I'm a Texas girl from a huge Midwestern family. Family is super important and I look forward to visiting them any chance i get. My mom lives nearby and is my biggest spiritual influence and hero. I play sand volleyball and softball, and I'm always up for outdoor adventures like hiking, biking, kayaking, etc. I stay fairly busy, so also enjoy times when I can just be lazy by my pool or on the couch with my dog. I'm an extrovert with a big heart and a mouth to match! LoL I love to laugh and joke. I work hard to keep a positive outlook on life, and I do my best to be a fountain of peace & understanding. Negativity, death metal rock, and cigarettes can ruin my vibes..... but other than that its all good.

  • Debbie, 33 from Irving, TX
    33, Irving, TX
I was born and raised in a small town in South Texas, but moved to Dallas for college and liked the area so I decided to stick around. Friendship and family mean everything to me. I am a consultant and travel for my job which can be tough meeting new people. I am Catholic and believe that having a similar faith based relationship makes it that much stronger. I would like to meet someone that I can carry a meaningful conversation with and sometimes not so meaningful. About Me: - Very much a "glass is half full" type person (sometimes to a fault) - Enjoy the outdoors - Witty and sarcastic - Appreciate the finer things in life but also enjoy the simplicity of it as well - Willing to try new things at least once - Terrified of sharks, but would like to feed them from an ocean cage - Can have fun doing just about anything - Athletic and Competitive - Goofy and random - Friendly and loyal - Nerd at times - Can run in heels What I'm looking for is someone... - With similar morals and religious beliefs - Who is not afraid to laugh at themselves sometimes - Who wants and values family - Who is confident and self-motivated - Who likes to dance Anything else? Just ask.
