35, Irving, TXSo what do you want to know about me? What kind of person I am? Let's see...I actually used to be a lot more introverted than I am now, possibly because nursing doesn't leave a lot of room to be shy and reserved! I swear, I've never been so comfortable asking people insanely personal questions in my life! ;-) Anyway, that doesn't mean I'm promising to be a paragon of eloquence, especially when it comes to initiating a conversation with men I find potentially intriguing. My curse. C'est la vie. What else? I love my family--I have the best one! I have six amazing niblings (great word, right?) who mean the world to me, a horde of chickens bent on world domination, and a drama queen of a Doberman. I don't suppose I really fit any particular molds. I am (or...can be) ladylike, and value etiquette and manners in both sexes. But in the interest of honesty, if you're looking for a submissive woman who will defer to you in all things at the expense of her own judgment and good sense, that's not me. Look elsewhere. I won't be that woman for you. I believe relationships are a partnership of equals (but not "identicals"). I'm not a feminist, certainly not in the rabid sense, but I have an independent spirit. I'm almost always busy with something or other, and I love people, but I also need time to be quiet, alone, and in peace. I like getting dressed up for an evening out, but am just as happy staying home for a movie or the big game. I'm an animal lover and I try to have a green thumb, with ambiguous success. I love to travel. I'm well-educated but I'm not a snob about it--I mostly just love to learn new things. I don't expect everyone to be like me, and it's not all that important to me how many letters someone has after their name. I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially biking and hiking. I'm a terrible runner but I want to get better. And...autocorrect just fixed my typo of "better" for "beer," which, I suppose "I want to get beer" can be equally true too. Depends on the brew. ;) Anyway, I think some of the best times are just hanging out with friends around the fire or around the grill, with good food and good conversation and plenty of laughter. Oh, but I can bake like a grandma. Eh...you know. A grandma who can bake...;-) Want to know more? Just ask!
30, Irving, TXThe crackling of a campfire eases my heart. Good wine, good books and good friends creates an excellent combination, but the quickest way to my heart is to reveal your nerdiness .... Preferably with Shakespeare or Firefly. I am the oldest of seven, an academic, snobbish about literature, wine, music, and rather shy which most often translates into awkwardness. There should be a book that could give a script for flirting, because I freeze and can't think of a thing to say. If I manage to maintain eye-contact then I am doing well and am interested. I am teaching middle school English, History, and Latin at a tiny private school. I love watching my students change and mature, seeing the light come on in their minds when they grasp a difficult (or awesome) concept. And I love being the one to give them the shocking and delightful news that "Ring Around the Rosie" is about the Bubonic Plague. Someday I want to start my own k-12 school with a classical curriculum and a house system, to be closely affiliated with the college that some of my friends are going to start! I have eyes the color of the sea after a storm. Petrichor!
31, Irving, TXI am originally from Buford, GA, but now I live in Dallas, TX. I'm the Volunteer Coordinator for the National Catholic Singles Conference sponsored by CatholicMatch Institute, in Dallas, TX on September 30-October 2. Overall, I love to travel, write, change my hair color and style often, enjoy a good bubble bath, and hate emotigrams. I also believe texting is kryptonite to courtship. I do love to conversate though, so definitely reach out to me if something in my profile catches your eye. The great thing about online meeting is we already have a lot to talk about!
31, Irving, TXOh good, the part where I'm supposed to talk about how awesome I am. I'm a former homeschooler and can make eye contact. I'm also a cat lady. I have 9 siblings. I've camped twice in my life and that was more than enough. I'm a bit of a homebody and think a day without reading is a day wasted. I like reading the classics, spiritual reading, mysteries, and I really enjoy the publication First Things. I love conversation, even about trivial things, and think the people involved matter more than the subject (same with activities, the people you're with make it fun more than the activity itself); for example, my friend and I recently enjoyed disagreeing about whether it's ok to pull out into a median when trying to cross traffic or if you're supposed to wait till all lanes are clear. I think the answer is obvious...I love board games and dancing. My idea of spontaneity is making plans only a week in advance. If there's a documentary on PBS I cant change the channel. I majored in military history. I love kids. I try to only swear when I'm driving. I love horses and wish I lived on a ranch. Nothing relaxes me like a good Dateline or 48 Hours or Hallmark--I admit it, I can't get enough of those movies. If someone can't laugh at himself or me we wont get along:(
52, Irving, TXHello and thanks for reading my profile. Im attempting to use the guidelines provided. There is a lot. I tried to summarize and that is not one of my gifts. Please forgive run on sentences or imperfect grammar/punctuation. Passions: Honesty, Loving and being loved, Faith, Hope, hard work, good health, rest, TRAVEL, OTHERS, Family, friends, technology, GOOD IDEAS, a pretty garden, history, being part of a team, or the many teams I'm on, freedom of choice, Grace for previous poor choices. What I look forward to: See above...I would love to be in a healthy marriage. Seeking someone very special and worthy with whom to share passions and a common purpose. BUT meeting friends first, and along the way is ok too. Ya have to play the game if you want to win and I very much enjoy meeting new people. Experiences and people most influential in my life: family, parents, siblings, in-laws, nieces/nephews, so many educators, priests and professors throughout 12 years of Catholic education as well as college professors, mentors and managers, colleagues, co-workers current parish priests, my patients and their families. I read a lot. I appreciate simplicity. I love the richness of our faith and am constantly learning, seeking better understanding( but obeying when I don't get it). Experiences: I have had a personal epiphany of travel since 9/11. Airfare became affordable and my eyes were really opened. I VERY much enjoy learning and speaking other languages, learning about and getting to know people from other cultures. The latin based languages are my favorite because they seem the easiest to pick up for me. I've learned some Irish and German, though it's probably forgotten through non-use. My Spanish is somewhere between conversational and fluent and I'm working hard to become fluent. Unfortunately, each time I start learning a new language and think I'm able to speak phrases/converse it mysteriously reverts to Spanish. Leisure time: I enjoy all the things I've been blithering about above, and spending time with family and friends. I grew up w/ a very horticultural mother and have been labelled a 'plant person' by many friends. Texas poses some real challenges in this regard. I love antique roses, herb gardening, perennials and strive to always have something blooming indoors and out.
27, Irving, TXWhere to start? There are so many things to enjoy in life! I love just walking outside and looking at the sky, and noticing the effects of sunlight on the leaves. I love music, dabbling in various forms of art--painting, drawing, ceramics, and hanging out with people. I also love practicing my Spanish--though I am far from perfect! Most influential people? My mom and dad. Ever since I was little I looked up to them, and even now continue to seek their guidance in the decisions that I face. I feel so grateful that they raised me. Without them, I may not have what I consider to be a great gift: Faith in Christ and His Church.

33, Irving, TXI was born and raised in a small town in South Texas, but moved to Dallas for college and liked the area so I decided to stick around. Friendship and family mean everything to me. I am a consultant and travel for my job which can be tough meeting new people. I am Catholic and believe that having a similar faith based relationship makes it that much stronger. Just ask.
