I'm a mother of 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren - mostly all out of state. Work as a part-time health care worker thru an agency. Love music from classical to good rock and blues, live theater, reading, watching TV, walking/moderate hiking in Myles Standish Forest, movies/independent films, discussing politics (interested in other peoples' opinions). I eat mostly healthy, recycle, care about a sustainable environment, learning/experiencing new things. I've begun an on-line course of Brazilian Portuguese because my community has an influx of them and I get to practice speech at various places they work! I visit other people's dogs, cats. FYI: I haven't completed the annulment process (divorced for 30 yrs.) but would be easily accepted by the tribunal if I wanted to marry again. Passions that change my overall being: attending live Plymouth classical concerts, walking downtown or in the forest, watching great old movies on TCM, conversing about subjects I know little about in order to learn something new, laughing and feeling happy!

My career is focused on helping others and I believe that for me, my work is my faith in action.

My family is very important to me. Since retirement, I look forward to wintering in the Longwood, Florida area to share time with my daughter and her family. I'd love to make some friends of my own age group there to enjoy too. I've lived on my own for 30 years so I'm not looking for a marriage partner; I'm looking to develop some true, loyal friendships with active people who like to do some of the things I like to do. I'm game for trying out some things you find fun and interesting too. Some of the activities I partake in are: swimming, walking, small group singing, attending live plays, playing board games, playing canasta, chess, cooking, entertaining at home, and travel. When I used to dance and ride on the back of a motor bike, I loved those too. At home, going to church suppers after evening mass, attending Bible study groups, performing extraordinary minister visitations, and volunteering in the food pantry are part of my life. I'd like to share in doing some of these types of activities with a friend in Longwood as well.

Hi! I'm friendly, if a bit shy, but curious and interested in many things, including people! I'm tall (5'10") and slender, an English major and Librarian, with a life-long love of reading and the arts. I love good food, and have been cooking and baking as long as I can remember. Other interests are wide-spread, including gardens, cats, clothes, finance, and, well, chocolate! I'm traditional in that family and friends are important . I'd love to meet a guy who's both serious and fun, to share it all with.

The first thing I like to do is anything I've never done before that I think I would enjoy. The second thing I enjoy doing is more of the first thing. Any day that I wake up and my name is NOT in the obituaries, I know it is going to be a great day, so I embrace it and go from there! For leisure time, I like theater, museums, good movies, browsing bookstores, reading and cooking for family and friends. I also like to make life special for other people by making/creating lasting memories.

I was very happily married for 37 3/4 years, but God chose the time for my husband to go back "home". He was "gone" in 5 months with an aggressive leukemia. He always had a smile, and I want to look across a lunch-table and see someone smiling at me again. It has been over 7 years. I was blessed with a grandson 5 months after he died and 3 weeks after my mom died............ He is the light of my life, so I plan lots of things to do with him. I love my yard and garden.........it's my "therapy". I love photography and make photo cards into birthday, anniversary cards for so many of my friends and family. Love to travel........always have to have a trip to look forward to.....even if it's just 2 hours to Palm Springs. Love to read as I was always on my feet as a nurse for 40 years (just part-time since "the kids", who are now 39 and 34). To sit and read (with no interruptions) is such a pleasure. Just back from the NJ coast to help rebuild a Sandy-hurricane destroyed home thru International Relief teams based in San Diego.......team of 11 and I helped lay bamboo flooring for 5 days. Never had done anything like this before.......my hips, back and knees were screaming at me, but I survived the week. Humbling to know I can't do everything I think I can do.

Finding myself alone after a long wonderful marriage has been challenging and in many ways somewhat surprising. Discovering that God does give you the strength to endure difficulties and manage to come out the other side more or less in one piece and in many ways stronger than you ever though you could be. That is where I am now...discovering myself. Becoming independent is fine, however, I miss the sharing and companionship that I had and realize that I miss being a "couple". I enjoy travel, concerts and the arts. I am confident in myself to be able to participate in these activities alone but know how wonderful it is to share fun moments with someone who appreciates them as much as I do. I have been blessed with a wonderful family and life long friends. I suppose one can not ask for much more than that. However, perhaps God has just one more nice guy who would like to be with a nice lady for whatever time we both have left. I love to laugh and I welcome smiles and would like to find a gentleman who would welcome both smiles and laughter into his world.

Looking forward to retirement very soon and all of the leisure and adventure that goes along with this new phase! Love to travel around Michigan, the US and really would like to vacation to Montreal, PEI and more. Renewed by beautiful scenery; nourished by art and music of all kinds, Traveled to Italy and Scotland and given the chance, I'd do it again! I am passionate about preventing child abuse and domestic abuse. Avid reader: Recent favorites are Nine Boys in a Boat, The People of the Book. A Prayer for Owen Meany tops my all time favs, For "relief" I read light historical mysteries. Dappling (literally) with watercolor painting. So far I am not good, but t's fun. No cats or dogs, though I love golden retrievers. Such sweet dogs and they only shed twice a year: Spring and Fall, :-) Oh seems mportant to mention that I'm financially secure and expect the same in a good match."

I enjoy all facets of life and I am open to change, I love my life but I also enjoy new experiences I,m a golfer and love to be outside. The ocean, the mountains, back-country, cruising, trips to foreign lands are great, I don't take life too seriously and try to have a good time anywhere and everywhere. I enjoy some cooking (especially with a partner) dining out, movies, some TV programs, reading, and kayaking, but also like quiet evenings and long walks. I am not a morning person, enjoy getting up around 8:00-8:30 but can do early mornings when I need to. I am a true New Englander at heart. I also love Florida and all the activities here in the Villages. I have many friends and lots of family here. I would like companionship, friendship and if it leads to a more serious relationship in time, that's a good thing. If I sound like someone you would like to get to know, let's start with communication.

I'm very active and like to keep in shape. I do tread mill 10 minutes a day; equaling a 1/2 mile. I've always been active and sports minded. I'm computer minded and want to learn more. I love to bake desserts and cook homemade meals. I enjoy oldies music and dance. I've been widowed too long; devoting most of my lonely years to helping others who needed help and comfort in one way or another.
