43, Annandale, VAIn asking good friends to describe me, they mentioned: genuine, thoughtful, easy to talk to, witty, considerate and grounded. Some of the things I enjoy: physical activity & sports, family time & alone time, stimulating conversation, helping others, well written books/ tv / movies, concerts, traveling, and learning/ doing new things or about old things/ history. I grew up mostly in the DC metro area, but have lived in several mid-atlantic & southeastern states. It would be fair to say I like a southern gentlemen's sensibilities/ manners, living in the 'burbs near big cities, visiting beaches and parks/ mountains, regular coffee over -cino/ expresso drinks, and viewing the cup as half full.
65, Fairfax, VAWhat am I passionate about? Actually, lots of different parts of my life. I love travel, wine, music, and am excited to be learning swing dancing. I stay as active as I can - dancing, working out at my gym, attending Zumba classes, and walking. I am looking for someone that is fit, and takes time to stay fit. Eating healthy, regular exercise, and maintaining a healthy weight is a big deal to me. My family is very important. I have 2 daughters that live in different parts of the country, but I do try to see them as much as I can in. Travel is a big part of my life. I lived in Europe for many years working for the Government, and now try to travel as much as I can. I try to take at least one international trip a year to somewhere I haven't been. This year was Greece. I fit in a couple other trips each year, usually in the Winter to somewhere warm. Hawaii is a favorite of mine right now! I love live theater, and attend as often as I can. I also enjoy opera and movies. My religion is also an important part of my life. I attend church regularly.
29, Arlington, VAI love to laugh. I don't think I ever let a day go by without laughing and I try to infuse humor into almost every situation. The best and corniest joke I've heard recently: "What was the first expletive Moses said when he came down Mt. Sinai with the Ten Commandments?"..."Holy Cow!" My passion is teaching theology. I love love love discussing theology with my students, colleagues, friends and if I'm feeling especially extroverted, even strangers. Although, I am pretty shy in person, I'm an easy nut to crack and once I feel comfortable I open up quickly. I tend toward being very observant, not Sherlock Holmes but ask me what I see and hear. You'd be surprised what I notice. My students are constantly amazed by my powers of hearing when they're whispering things to comrades. I devour books and movies pretty voraciously and when I go to the movie theater I have to be there for the previews. Its part of the experience (and one of the things that I bonded with my brother over). There's just something about walking into that theater and watching the lights go down...I'm a sucker for suspense, thrillers and mysteries. Right now, Greg Iles and Gillian Flynn are my go to authors. I also have the most adorable dog, Shorty. A friend recently described him as a dog with the "nose of a pig and the hide of a cow." I think she meant it as a compliment. For most of the year, I'm able to bike with Shorty on a stretch of the W&OD trail near my apartment. Hanging out with friends generally includes food (home-cooked meal or dining out), swing dancing at Glen Echo Park, Adoration at one of DC's many parishes and taking advantage of some of the great opportunities that DC provides. The activity is always secondary to the company. Sometimes, the most pleasurable experience is just to sit next to someone in the silence and take in the beauty around or get lost in a book.

23, Springfield, VAGod and my family are two of the most important things in my life. I've attended several retreats, I go to Mass every Sunday, and frequently volunteer at my parish and in my community. The last retreat I went on was a silent Lenten weekend retreat out in West Virginia - it was a beautiful and peaceful experience! I love spending time with my family, whether we're riding roller coasters at Busch Gardens, playing music together (I've played the violin since I was six), watching a movie in the evening, playing card games (I've been taking a stab at learning Bridge), or just hanging out and talking. Since graduating from college dining halls, I've found a love for cooking. One of my sisters (I'm the oldest of four girls) gave me a southern Italian cookbook for Christmas and I've been enjoying making (and modifying) the recipes. My favorites so far are a pizza made from scratch and a chocolate malt pie. I love reading and writing. I mostly read fiction (especially Shakespeare plays); I also enjoy (auto)biographies. I write fiction and poetry, and one of my goals is to publish a novel. I graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with an Associates of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), then transferred to the University of Virginia (UVA) to complete my B.S. degree in EE. At UVA, I was active in the Catholic Student Ministry, and joined one of the scripture study groups. I also participated in the Shakespeare theater group. I'm not an actress, so I helped with the sound effects - playing the rain drum in King Lear. Recently, in my free time (I have a full time job in my field), I spend time with my family and am active in young adult events with the Arlington Diocese.
19, Red House, VAHello. I'm not exactly sure I'm ready to date, but I would really like to make some awesome friends, as I've heard you should find your friends first so they can attend the wedding ;).I love music and if I could get out there more, I think I'd be obsessed with ice skating, even though I've only gone once in my life recently. Please excuse my horrible way of rambling on, I can't write, it's not one of my strong points. I like baking and cooking too. I think my parents and retreats offered in our diocese have been the greatest role models/ experiences in my life. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching Doctor Who and Sherlock when the internet actually works, hanging out with my family and friends,(I have a big family, 8 brothers, 3 sisters)and enjoying the great outdoors (usually with my dog). JMJ
26, Fredericksburg, VAI can pretty much do anything and everything, from shooting to dancing to snowboarding to paddleboarding. I love making chainmaille items in my spare time, I have a shop on Etsy that brings in a little bit of business, the name of my shop is Luster Links, go check it out :) P.s. I don't have premium.
54, Verona, VAPut others before yourself. - I tell my kids to consider, "Your opinion is not the most important one in the room - Listen." This is something I strive for daily. Other things I find myself saying frequently: Be yourself. Life is far too short for over thinking. Be a nice human. Give. Be kind. There but for the grace of God go I. Stand your ground. What is popular isn't always right - what's right isn't always popular. I want to find that *one* man. I'm not looking to "hook up" and I'm not adverse to dating - it's how we get to know each other, but ultimately, I'm looking for another soul mate, I've been widowed for 13 years - I think its time ;) I am very loyal and devoted with the right man. My interests are eclectic, outdoors, crafts (basket making, hand spinning alpaca yarns from my small herd) cooking, gardening, GOOD conversation, shooting, hiking, wine tasting, cuddling under the stars or by the fire, and absolutely anything to do with the ocean no matter the time of year. I love to laugh, laughter is essential, having a great sense of humor is how we get through life. Have you ever considered that God has a sick sense of humor? I laugh daily at the follies of our humanity. I'm very spiritual and my religion keeps me centered. I'm also very to the point, you'll always know my thoughts, no games, no drama - no time for any of that. Being considerate of other's thoughts, feelings and views is important to me, I have my own opinions but that doesn't mean I'm always right ;). Friends discribe me as honest, generous, thoughtful, loyal, dependable, capable, and determined. I have been blessed beyond measure and believe in giving back. I try hard to "be a nice human". If you're part of my circle you won't go hungry. I know my way around the kitchen - or the grill - if I like you, I feed you. If you're coming for dinner, come hungry! If you had told me 15 years ago that I would be using a computer to create a meaningful connection with another person I would have looked askance and laughed. Yet here I am - (here we are). Send me an email, I'll respond ;) Best of luck in your search for connection and real human contact in this disconnected world! Blessings, Kathy
