I grew up in Virginia, near Washington, D.C.. I enjoy taking long outdoor walks or hiking, especially in the woods or on a beach or, in bad weather, hopping on a treadmill. I enjoy swimming too and love the ocean. Lately I have taken up horse riding again. Alexandria is a convenient and great place to live, but eventually, I would like a house in a more rural area and have a dog. I am a pretty good cook, and if we hit it off, maybe you will be tasting some cuisine from my kitchen.

I like to be on the move and am always ready to say "Yes, let's do something!" My two sons are grown and very independent and I am so proud of them. I love to play golf, travel, visit National Parks, go to the beach or mountains or just sit back and relax. I retired five years ago and now have time to spend at my home in Manchester MA while continuing to live here in Virginia where I have lived since 1988. I grew up in New Hampshire, follow the Boston Red Sox and still have lots of family and friends in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

I hail from the sort-of-humble, forged-in-steel City of Champions (Pittsburgh, clearly!) and have found my current little niche in the D.C. area. Stupid puns make me giggle. I like most people, swimming, biking, hiking, dancing, and the like. Once in a while I like to do races - running, swimming and triathlons, but only learned to swim in the past four years - and now I can't get enough! A desire for volunteering has landed me in Peru twice and also around here doing various things. I'm also interested in learning more Spanish. And Arabic. I tend to think a lot. I don't often like to sit around doing nothing - I prefer getting out, traveling, "new adventures" and so forth, but can also sit quietly on a Friday evening with a good book and a glass of wine (or beer) now and then. I like to work on cars, but have a lot to learn and usually have a friend or two in tow because they know way more than I do. The temperament test thing seems to contain some strains of truth - I've been described as intense, sarcastic and opinionated. Personally, I don't think this is a bad thing. ;-) I am a cradle Catholic, never really strayed too far, but to say my faith is my rock would be an understatement (despite occasional evidence insinuating the contrary...)! Lately I have totally fallen in love with the Eastern Liturgy, so bonus if you are into that or open to exploring that as well. Anyhoo, drop me a line!

I enjoy the company of others and like to attend many of the cultural happenings in the area, the museums and the lectures available around town etc! My hobbies are centered around art, being healthy and having fun. I enjoy traveling and would like to see more of America and Europe. I am happy, kind, intelligent, social, stable and sometimes spontaneous:) Being on my own for the last few years has given me the time to reflect on life and where the path will lead. "The only time to look back is to see how far I've come" makes me feel good about my future. What's missing? Sharing life. Looking for a one woman man who is honest and can communicate.

Happy Easter! (And go Caps!!!) I'm an environmentally conscious teacher who loves the Nats, a good comedy, and anything with peanut butter and chocolate (preferably together!). If we were to bump into each other in real life, it would most likely be at a baseball game, on a river/lake/ocean or a hiking trail, or in a library.

Hello, I am a graduate student studying architecture. I am very passionate about architecture and will finish my schooling around 2019. I am most passionate about many things including reading, writing, traveling, going to museums, the beach, makeup, sketching and learning new things. ...The pipers are playing "Amazing Grace", the green beer is flowing and pub guests are warming up for a St. Patrick's Day celebration. I sit with pen and paper and await the arrival of friends! Life leading to this moment has been mostly filled with light. Through years of heartfelt living, career, marriage, beautiful children and now uncharted waters, I am meeting life head-on with anticipation and courage. I have been sustained by a profound relationship with God and Christ; I love with abandon, laugh heartily, see most things in metaphor or humor and commit to resilience when life becomes tough. Now I look forward to a relationship of passion, love, loyalty, huge fun and remarkable moments of romance and living. I enjoy doing all kinds of things...you know the list. I have enjoyed a career, and I am taking it on-line so that I can work while gazing at a shoreline or change my schedule to have a vibrant relationship with a "love" and with my sons, help alleviate the troubles in the world, perhaps in Haiti or Appalachia, travel or learn to play golf! My sweet hope is to meet the love of my life, the only one I see. Since the words are difficult for me to craft and since music makes me cry when it touches the feeling, I refer to Stevie Wonder's performance of "Ribbon in the Sky", either the official video or any of his live performances. ... a jewel sky on Christmas Eve, family, friendships, the dream of holding hands in Tuscany on a "Chianti Afternoon" a summer thunder shower while hiking the Appalachian trail and the albino squirrels in my yard, all of these delight me! All things music, learning, discussing the world, my faith and philosophy, sharing passions and dance are equally delicious. I love cooking and exquisite dining out, but "Little Caesar's" or a "ballgame hot dog" are great too. I smile as often as possible, see the good and I have great understanding. I am reasonable and reasonably strong. I can't tell the difference between great wines and the "less than vintage", but I really just enjoy the giggles that come afterward. As this is all very new to me, I am cautious and a bit slow in responding, but I would be honored by any interest shown in my profile. Thank you for taking the time to read it and may we all find our perfect treasures! ...The friends just arrived and the buzz in the crowd is growing. It would be nice to share these types of moments with a great guy...

Single independent woman looking for a long term relationship with a single fun loving emotionaly and financially stable man. I do not have any children. I am not looking for a pen pal. I am a very active and healthy senior citizen. I love my movies, music of all sorts, history, books, the civil war or war between the states and travel across the globe. I have been a physician and surgeon D.O. for over 45 years and I am retiring. I have Andalusian horses that take up too much of my time right now. I love a good conversation including a good civilized disagreement about a subject. I cannot think of anything that I really dislike except snakes. I love good food along with the conversation. I love to cook as the food is so much better than restaurants.I am looking for a person who has a functional brain and loves conversation also. I have been to law school also but do not practice. I love Virginia but was born and raised in Illinois. I spent many years in southern California but that was for the benefit of my child. I am happy with Virginia. I have much more to do in this life and would enjoy having someone to share it with. I look forward to meeting you and your mind.

I am the girl who throws on a baseball cap with my flip flops and shorts to go lay on the beach, listen to the waves and smell the salty air while reading a good book before playing in the waves as well as the girl who's ready to dress up and go to a concert or check out a festival. I care for children during the day then I go practice Muay Thai in my evenings and hang out with family and friends whenever I can. I just got confirmed in the Catholic faith this last Easter Vigil and my faith is very important to me.
