Ian and I (Sonja) met on January 10, 2008 in a local bar by my house. We had only corresponded about a week on Catholic Match before we switched to email and he invited me to meet him somewhere close to where I live. He was coming from an hour away, so I recommended a favorite bar.
He arrived almost an hour late because of traffic and I was starting to get worried he wasn't going to come. Finally, after calling and letting me know he was still on his way, he arrived. According to him, I had a huge smile on my face when I arrived. We exchanged hugs and shared drinks and dinner. Our first date was almost five hours long! He walked me to my car and kissed me goodbye.
Two days later we went out again for dinner and the rest is history. We have been together ever since. Ian proposed at the end of October 2008 and we were married on June 19, 2009. I can't believe Catholic Match worked for me and for us! We never would have met otherwise! God works in mysterious ways! :)
