It was back in the summer that Catholic Match released it’s updated
events calendar. We have been gratified by the response to this new
feature. The CM calendar has served as an outpost to help bring members
together across the country. From Boston to Tucson, get-togethers have
been promoted and discussed online. Increasing numbers of members have
started to submit activities taking place in their own communities for
placement on the calendar. Events from rosary groups, to Bible studies
to Young Adult gatherings, to high-profile conferences—all have found
their way on to the Catholic Match events page.
The ultimate purpose of all these events is to facilitate the
process of members meeting each other in the “real world”, and not just
online. We encourage all members to submit the activities taking place
in their local area. It doesn’t matter if it’s big or small—if
Catholics are gathering, we want to help spread the word. God
ultimately works through community in helping us find His will—by
placing technology at the service of the community, we seek to help our
users come closer to discerning and embracing the life He has called
them too.
You can help too. Just click “Add your event” on the righthand side
of the events page. We review events for approval each business day. If
you are going to attend a posted activity, there’s a place on each
event page for you to let your fellow CMers know you’ll be there. Each
meeting of fellow Catholics draw all a little bit closer to the Divine
Heart of Christ.
