Kathleen came to CatholicMatch with a positive outlook on dating and life in general. The 36-year-old from Arizona had a fulfilling job, working as a nurse practitioner and helping bring medical care to under-served communities. She was certainly interested in meeting someone, but by no means was it a necessity for her life.
“I was very open…just put it in God’s hands,” she said. Kathleen lives in a remote area of Arizona, so part of putting it in God’s hands meant making herself available to a broader community of people. She decided, more or less impulsively, to give CatholicMatch a second try in early 2013 after her first go-round a few years earlier had not produced results.
It didn’t take long for results to happen this time. Andrew, two years older and living a couple hours away in Arizona, wrote her in the first part of February 2013. Five days after receiving his message and checking his profile, Kathleen decided to upgrade to full membership and wrote him back.
“We instantly hit it off,” she said. They built the connection with each other online for a couple months, and then got together for a dinner at a Japanese restaurant. The relationship continued to grow from there.
Andrew and Kathleen share a wide range of common interests, including being outdoors in their native Arizona.
