Jonathan lived in America’s biggest city in New York, and just by the numbers you would guess the 36-year-old from New York would find someone reasonably local. But Jonathan was willing to go the distance, and that distance took him all the way to the Rio Grande.
Gabi is 32-years-old and lives near the Rio Grande in Texas. She and Jonathan made contact on CatholicMatch, and spent weeks exchanging messages, and moving to online chats and texting messages. “Finally…I booked a flight so we could meet face-to-face,” Jonathan recalled.
The eight-day trip Jonathan took could not have been better. “Our conversation flowed easily and the chemistry between us was strong,” he told CatholicMatch. “We recognized that our faith in God’s grace and words prepared our hearts to engage in a mature, loving and understanding relationship with each other.”
Jonathan eventually returned home, and the couple is moving forward with renewed commitment to their long-distance relationship, and Gabi has plans in place for a visit to New York City.
No one can say with certainty where this special path in their lives will lead, but today Jonathan and Gabi are enjoying growing in friendship and faith together.
