We started exchanging email in January 2008 here on Catholic Match. I was browsing through the profiles and noticed Jason's
profile. I (Anne Mari)didn't bother to read his extremely thorough profile description.
When I saw his picture, and noticed he was a construction Project Manager, I
figured I would just send an email introducing myself. I had served in
Construction Project Management for five years and thought our similar
backgrounds would at least spark conversation. Through our email conversations,
we found that we had common interests, values, and learned a lot about each
other. We emailed for two months before our first conversation over the phone,
when Jason called me. In May, after several hundred emails and hours of phone
conversations, we finally met face to face in Nebraska. Because we both enjoy
rodeo, Jason's friend invited us to watch him ride bulls in a rodeo. We have
been flying back and forth to see each other ever since.
How we got
engaged:
We had been talking about the prospect of marriage for a few
months. Both of us are very strong in our Catholic faith, and Jason surprised me
on his birthday, just a few days after Christmas. He had planned for me to open
a gift everyday for three days. On the feast day of the Holy Family, he handed
me my last gift. I opened the package and found a beautiful jewelry box with the
following message on the bottom "To my beloved Anne-Mari on this feast day of
the Holy Family, will u be mine." Inside the box was my beautiful engagement
ring! We are planning our wedding celebration to be in Fall 2009.
We are
so thankful for Catholic Match, and all the friends we made here along the way.
It was a blessing to be part of this online community, filled with inspiring
individuals, whom I feel helped to strengthen me in my faith and devotion.
