Ed and I (Rhonda) met on Catholic Match in November of 2004. We were
lucky enough to live only forty-five minutes away from each other, so
we set up a date to meet. We had a light dinner first and really
enjoyed ourselves. We left the dinner and went ballroom dancing. Ed had
been dancing for a few years, but it was new for me. I have always
loved dancing though, so I knew it would be fun. It turned out to be
the most fun I had in a very long time so I couldn't wait to see Ed
again. He was just perfect. I told my sister all about him and she just
said, "Nobody can be that lucky." I wasn't really expecting to meet
someone so great when I signed on to Catholic Match. I just figured it
would give me something to do and maybe I would make a few friends.
Well God always has better plans for us!
We dated for almost a
year when he asked me to marry him. The proposal was so beautiful. I
know I'll never forget it. I went to Ed's house on our traditional
Thursday evening together. I knew it was going to be a special evening,
because he told me he was cooking dinner for me and that we were going
to the ballet. I had no idea it was going to be a life changing event.
Ed made the night so wonderful. He had candles and roses everywhere!
There were rose petals from his front door into the dining room and on
the table. He had borrowed his grandmother's china from his mother and
had beautiful music playing too. He made spaghetti for dinner, and
before we even got to the ice cream for dessert he proposed. I couldn't
believe it! I was so surprised and could not have asked for a more
perfect proposal from my Sweetie.
Ed has been there for me
during a really tough time. He was there every step of the way, always
praying for me, always patient and understanding. I think he's just an
angel. My closest friends think he was sent straight from God right
when I needed him. The funniest part is that even though we both live
in Ohio now, we grew up in the same area down in Kentucky. That was the
part in Ed's profile that I just couldn't forget. Besides the fact that
he's just so cute. I feel truly blessed to have found Catholic Match,
because without it, I don't think I would have ever met Ed. Thanks for
