Waiting on God's Timing

Steven and I (Amie) met on Catholic Match back in 2007. After a few short emotigrams

and short messages I gave him my number and we began conversing on the phone about just about everything. We'd talk every couple weeks or so. Steve was very good

about calling. I must say he was very consistent and easy to talk to. We seemed

to have a lot of the important things in common.

We finally met after three months of talking. He flew all the way from California to Minnesota, where he

stayed in a hotel and I drove him around so he could see where I lived. We had fun, but I

was seeing someone else, a non-Catholic at the time, so upon his departure I

didn't encourage him to pursue me.  But he thought a lot of me I guess, as

he left a little note in the center console of my car, thanking me for this

visit which he would remember for all eternity. I was touched by his sincerity

and openness of heart in conversation and in writing. So after a week, I called

him up. We slowly began talking again, though he tells me now he was quite

discouraged. He didn't show it. He acted like a friendship was more than okay.

I took up travel nursing in Seattle and finally convinced him to come out to

visit me after multiple disappointments from going out with non-Catholics.  I

prayed that Steve would kiss me and that I would know if I should become serious

with Steve as I knew he was a very good and Catholic man.

Well, the rest is history. We flew back and forth, Steve paid for most

everything and we courted for around eight months before becoming engaged. I moved out to Minnesota in late January to work and continue seeing him, as he

was in an apprenticeship and could not leave during the school year, and could

not afford to keep flying to see me.

We were wed Nov. 8th of this year in St. Paul,  at Immaculate Heart of Mary

Church. It was a beautiful High Mass in the Traditional Latin Rite.  Our

families were all there. Now we've moved to Washington state and we are expecting a baby.

May God bless and guide all of you in your pursuit of a vocation and of God's

will for you!

Prayerfully, and with Gratitude for this wonderful site!
