I enjoy spending time with my extended family and friends for the special events and just the normal everyday activities that help us bond together in lasting relationships. I am an engineer by profession and have traveled throughout the Northwest in performing my job. I enjoy cooking a meal from scratch (and wouldn't mind it if you could show me some of your dishes) as well as volunteering for fun and worthy causes that help others and improve their lot in life. I like spending time with my nieces doing the things they like to do. It always makes me feel younger. I am hopeful of finding someone who shares my likes and interests that would make a great compliment to my life and blend our mutual faith in a wonderful offering to God. I am hoping it could be one of you here on line. Drop me a note and we"ll see what happens. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi. I'm active, very loyal, caring and honest. My friends say my smile is contagious, though often a bit facetious. I'm an active practicing Catholic. My beliefs are in line with the magisteriam of the Church. I have a passion for the poor and disabled, especially the developmentally disabled. Active in the charismatic renewal-People of Praise community. Love to bicycle, hike, camp. Aficionado of dark micro-brews, red wines and Italian food. My Daughter is a Jr. at U of W. Having simple tastes, I'm easily entertained; parish and charity fund raising activities are always a pleasure (I can even dress-up fancy if necessary!). I really enjoy being with and getting to know other people. I love the current and former Popes during my lifetime.

  • Karla, 62 from Vancouver, WA
    62, Vancouver, WA
I am 61 and I have two grown sons who live with me. I have 6 grandchildren ranging from 22 yrs old to 5 yrs. I am passionate about my catholic faith and my family. The person most influential in my life was my mom. She was the strongest, resilient, and most independent person I ever knew. I love listening to a wide selection of music, such as golden oldies, country, classical, Christmas and Church hymns are probably my most favorite. If I was having a trying time, I'd listen to either church hymns, or Christmas music. No one can stay upset for very long when you listen to either of those. After my divorce, I checked with my parish priest on how I go about getting an annulment. After some discussion, because I never got permission to marry outside of my faith, my marriage in the eyes of the catholic church, is invalid. Father said, when I find someone I want to marry, we will, at that point, fill out the forms and send it in. No annulment is needed, thank the good Lord. I was baptized into the catholic faith when I was about a week old. I have attended catholic schools all of my life. I was born and raised in Hawaii. My family still lives there and I try to go home as often as possible. (The economic times being what they are, I don't get to go home as often as I'd like). I've played sports most of my life. Volleyball, Soccer, Softball, Golf (trying to play, is the operative word) I enjoy watching sports (NFL, MLB) on TV too. I have lived in Vancouver, WA since 1978. I enjoy the great Vancouver/Portland area. It's a small town feel, with the large city advantages. I have my 2 dogs at home. A 12 yr old male weiner, and a 5 year old female chiweiner. If you have any questions, please ask. That's how people get to know one another, by asking questions and just talking.

  • Matt, 54 from Vancouver, WA
    54, Vancouver, WA
I grew up in the country outside a town in the Willamette Valley. I was an alter boy and later an alter server. Went to youth group, youth retreats. I remember the priests, brothers, and sisters that did their tasks with love and devotion. They were good examples to follow in how to be a good person. During the Summer, my family would pick cherries to sell to the grower co-op. We grew up being lower middle class. My dad worked hard to support the eight of us. My parents are still alive and live in that house I grew up in. I was in middle school when I started liking school and did not become a dropout. I was able to explore things, have dreams, and had teachers who supported my curiosity and exploration. I can look back at my life and see where God surrounded me with good folks and models to follow. Even though sometimes my childhood was tough, He got me through and I am a much better person for it. After graduation from Oregon State, I moved from small town to big city, my work took me to the big city of Portland. I have been in the area ever since. I was involved with church from pastoral council, young adult group, Eucharistic minister, greeter. Share the gifts God given me. Lost my favorite older brother in 2007. He was there for me to talk about my life difficulties. I would go out and help him with chores at his farm during the Summers. Met my future wife in 2008, married in 2011, and lost her to a swimming accident in 2013. Because I am in the technical field (Information Technology), I have a geeky side. I look for technology that works for me and not the other way around. I try to rule technology instead of it ruling me. :) I try to keep a separation between my work and my private time. I think it is healthy and sane this way. I don't ever want to be consumed by work and miss the beautiful things God has put in my life. My biggest hobby is electronics, computers, and amateur radio. By no means I am a genius at this stuff. It is fun to put something together that works, even if barely. :) Always room for improvements. I also enjoy hiking and occasionally go camping with family. I enjoy traveling seeing new sites. I am a people watcher. Wide music taste. I attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation. It gives me time to reflect about the good things in my life. But most importantly, how much He has helped me with my life and how I keep coming back to depend on him.

  • John, 47 from Vancouver, WA
    47, Vancouver, WA
I am passionate most about living a simple yet quality filled life... meaning: The adventure of life is more important than stuff. I Love spending time outside, running in the woods, hiking, splashing under waterfalls, swimming and camping under the stars. Raised in an italian/irish home with an italian Mom just outside NYC, I love to cook. I am a dog person, but I do love certain cats. My family is a huge part of my life but they all live 3000 miles away across the country. I am the father of two amazing kids that love to do all those things above with me and an incredible Standard Poodle. I have been influenced most by my father and Mother who taught me agape' from the start and never let go. I love my work and enjoy healthy living.

Hi (: Yep, that's me, and that's my daughter. I also have a 17 year old son. I'd like to say, first of all, some of the profile questions are not so cut and dried for example, are you the oldest or middle sibling. Well, there are nine of us so yes, I'm the oldest girl but no I'm not THE oldest. Anyways, you get my jist (: Some of the church teaching questions are not so cut and dried answers too, we can discuss more later. I look forward to finding someone who wants to spend life with me and my kids under God. Yes, I have a bit of a past; finding someone who doesn't care about my rigid past but loves me for who I am. I love cooking, camping, playing, walking, staying active. The most influential people in my life are my family members especially my parents. My sisters are my best friends. I'm very easy going and love a sense of humor. I am a self-employed housekeeper (:
