I (Carmen) was on CatholicMatch for about three years without much luck. I had met some fabulous gentlemen, but nothing other than friendships came into fruition. Then, on February 14, 2008, I got an email from a Jason. Instantly, when I pulled up his profile, I knew I was in trouble. He was cute. The thing that really drew my attention, however, was the introduction to his profile. He admitted that he was a nerd. Only someone with tons of confidence could say that. Also, it was what I wanted as well; I myself am a nerd. After talking with my mother about him, I paid for a subscription so I could converse with him.
All the messaging and phone calls got old after a few weeks. WE HAD TO MEET!!! So, with my parents in tow, I went down to Key West to meet him Easter weekend. It was when he walked through the door, and we hugged for the first time that I knew this was it.
The next twenty months were jam-packed with all manner of experiences for us; I got my first job, graduated grad school, moved into my first apartment, he moved up here and got a better job.
Then, on December 19, 2009, what I thought was a day trip to St. Augustine turned out to be the proposal!!! He proposed to me on the upper battlements of the Castillo de San Marco ("My princess deserves a castle for this moment" he told me) over looking one of my favorite spots on Earth.
Our Wedding will be on December 18, 2010.
