Michael and I (Josefina) met on CM on January 2008. Our
first face to face encounter was on May 2008. We got engaged, I met his family
and we had a wonderful time. I visited him on May 18th and spent a little bit
more than a week together. I came back to my city (Guayaquil, in Ecuador)
on May 26th 2008.
After my trip to Memphis we decided to see each
other for December 2008 or March 2009. We were both missing each other so much,
sometimes it was helpless for us to cry or to feel sad during our phone calls. We both have strong feelings for each other, and it was so hard to keep going
on with a long distance relationship. We talk on
the phone everyday, we have wonderful communication--somehow the
distance helped to develop that communication.
Due to job schedules and some other factors, we weren't able to see each other
until July 3rd of this year....yes,that means almost 13 months without
seeing each other!(I made the math...were 403 days away from each other).
Michael spent five days here in Ecuador. Needless to say, I just realized how lucky I am and how much I want to be with
him for the rest of my life. He met my family, my mom really liked him, he was
so kind and had such a sense of humor. The moment I saw him in the airport I
just ran to hug him and tell him how much I missed him. It was just like I
fit perfectly in his hug...like if we were perfectly made for each
other....again! =)
I was able to be myself with him all the time, and that's the part I love the
most from our relationship. My family really liked him, they felt like they've
known him for a long time. He met the pastor of my parish, my cousins, my
best friends, even my 1st grade students (yes, he visited my school, my kids
were so excited!).
All I can say is that HE'S THE ONE and I'm so thankful I got the chance to
spend some days with him. I just can't wait to get married and start a life
next to him! Long distance relationships make you
appreciate a lot more what you've got.
