Joshua wasn’t at all certain why he even joined CatholicMatch. A friend whom he admits knew him well, gave him the advice, and the 29-year-old Marine from the state of Missouri took him up on it.
That was to the good fortune of Ruth, age 27 and also from Mizzou. She hadn’t yet met anyone on CatholicMatch, but when she and Joshua connected it changed her entire life.
“I went home after our initial date and my mother said ‘You’re in love aren’t you?’” The connection was instant. It’s as if Ruth were the one there waiting to welcome Joshua home from Iraq.
Within two months they were enagaged, six months later they were married and today they have a beautiful baby girl together.
