When I first joined St. Raphael in the fall of 2002, I was disappointed to see that there were no male members from my age group that lived in my area. But about a month later I was pleasantly surprised to receive a message from Rod, who lived just minutes away. As we began to write to each other, we discovered that for many years we had belonged to the same parish and had lived in the same town, although we never knew each other. We had an immediate connection; we had more things in common than we could imagine. We both have a strong Catholic faith which was very important to both of us when looking for a future partner. It didn't take long for us to meet in person, which we did at my parish. We connected even more after that day and our relationship and romance has blossomed every day since. We firmly believe that we are true soulmates and that the Lord brought us together. Rod is everything I ever wanted in a man and has made me happier than I ever dreamed I could be. We became engaged on August 30, 2003 and are planning to be married around the middle of next year.
