Second chances and trust are a part of the life of grace and that was what Jim & Stephanie found on Catholic Match. His first marriage had ended in divorce and annulment, and he came to CM ready to find his true soulmate. Stephanie was never married, but wanted to know that whomever she married was someone with a faith she could trust.
It was a simple random search that started the whole process. In poring through the seemingly countless profiles that come up, Stephanie noticed Jim’s. It wasn’t any one specific thing that stood up, but the overall composite seemed to point out a person she would want to know better. She initiated the contact and let things take their course.
Things developed slowly, but at a steady and consistent pace. They soon switched to sending private e-mails and over a couple months stuck to cyber correspondence. Eventually that upgraded to phone calls and to face-to-face debts. Stephanie particularly loved going out to Italian restaraunts with her new love.
But it wouldn’t be an Italian place where the courtship found its fulfillment. This past February 13, they were at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, when Jim proposed marriage. It was done in a fashion truly romantic and truly low-key. “I don’t think anyone noticed”, she giggled.
Second chances and trust had paid off. “I knew he wasn’t the one at fault for what happened in his first marriage, Stephanie said. “And for me, learning you can trust the Catholic Match site, that was very important to me.”
In October 2010, Stephanie and Jim will be married and ready to move forward with a new season of their lives.
