As a defense contractor for the U.S. Marines, 33-year-old Freddie is responsible for training Iraqi soldiers and police units in weapons and tactics.
The Virginia native says he loves a good challenge, which helps explain his attraction to hiking and camping. “One sees the infiniteness and ingenuity of nature, how everything has a purpose, and everything happens for a reason,” he said.
It also explains his attitude about finding a wife. “When I was younger, I expected to be married by 33,” he said. “I expect this holds true for most of us. I try to avoid seeing life as a timeline and instead seeing life as a series of chapters, the length of which is dictated by how I live. The chapter between graduating college and eventual marriage has proven a long one, full of lessons to hand down, lest they have been learned in vain.”
Freddie’s focused on the future, not past mistakes, attending Latin Mass and praying the rosary. “Going forward, not only will living by God’s word help me to meet my goals, but ensure that once met, I make the most of them, with family, career, and my ability to help others in need, as I myself once was.”
Turning to CatholicMatch was an important step on that journey.
“I joined CatholicMatch because I realized that in the culture war being waged here in America, people are extremely resistant to the simple messages of self-denial, modesty, morality, and sacrifice,” Freddie said. “Finding someone who had different views from mine on these issues would mean that I would have to negotiate with her when it came to raising our children – or even whether to have more than one or two at all. Contraception, anyone?”
Freddie is willing to do whatever it takes to find his God-given mate. He’s open to long-distance relationships and to relocation.
He tried one other dating site but found it less helpful. “It is harder to use, as it is impossible to tell who is online at a given time, and it is very hard to properly engage the chat engine,” he said. “In at least these two things, CatholicMatch is a better resource.”
So far Freddie has been on several dates with CatholicMatch women. “In each instance, my expectations were always met,” he said. “Chemistry is, of course, a tricky element, and only God has control over that, but on the whole, I was so impressed with whom I met.”
